Junko Tabei Shares Inspiring Climbing Journey Virtually

The Spartanburg County Public Libraries will host a virtual performance titled "Junko Tabei" on Thursday, October 17, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. This event features Junko Tabei, known as the first woman to successfully climb Mount Everest and the Seven Summits, the highest peaks on all seven continents.

During the event, Tabei will share stories from her childhood in Fukushima and her experiences as a world-class mountain climber.
